DIY Vintage Bridal Sash

For Hayley's bachelorette, we planned a masquerade themed night out checking out the best of Whistler's nightlife. We wanted the lovely bride to have something special to mark the occasion but didn't want to put a traditional veil on her head or make her wear any tacky bachelorette duds, so we decided on a vintage looking bride sash!

  • Scrap of floral fabric
  • Thick wired ribbon
  • Metal brads
  • Felt
  • Hot glue
  • Embellishments such as pearls, embroidery thread, or jewels

Supplies for DIY Vintage Bridal Sash

Measure the total length of the ribbon then cut the ribbon in half. Re-angle the ribbon, pinning in place, so it lays flat against the body. Using brads (or hot glue), join the two pieces together. Glue a piece of felt beneath the join so it is smooth against the wearer's shoulder.

Cut the letters out of the fabric, ensuring they fit in the width of the ribbon.

Line the letters up on the front half of the sash and attach using hot glue.

Add embellishments, and voila! An original vintage looking sash perfect for a vintage bride bachelorette! We are hoping the sash will turn into a memento for the bride-to-be to help remember the eventful weekend.

What have used to dress up the bride for a bachelorette party?

  1. Love this! I have to admit that I have never been to a bachelorette party but I can already tell that yours are the best!

  2. This is helpful, because I'm always the bridesmaid. And, that job means I have to make things like this. I like the idea of making one instead of buying one. It really shows you care!

  3. Hi! New to the hop, new follower. Alaina from Bullocks Buzz (

  4. And WAYYYY WAYYY WAYYYYYY cuter than any store bought business!
