It's that time again! We are linking up with The Curious Pug for January's crochet-along project, mary jane slippers.
Steph: I was asked by a friend to make slippers for her mom, and this project came along at the perfect time! I have made similar slippers before, but this pattern was by far my favourite and fit the best.
I didn't add the strap to these slippers, and added a contrasting toe colour for a different look. I really hope my friend's mom likes them, and that they fit! Fingers crossed! It is so hard to judge foot size different then your own....
Hayley: This slipper is another PERFECT example of a quick scrap yarn project! I seemed to gravitate to 'earthy' color tones when I chose my yarn (browns, green), and flew through the pattern. As Steph said, I too have tried a few other slipper patterns, and this one just seemed to flow alot easier. Like Alycia of The Curious Pug, I removed a few rows, so the slippers would fit a little more snug.
I added the strap to my slippers for comfort, though I didnt have a button at the time.. so, I MADE one! I tinkered around with Deer Little Fawn's pattern for a crochet button, and voila! I would definetly make these again.
As usual, while taking pictures of our slippers, a dance party/slipper fight ensued. Cindy happened to snap a few pictures of us being ridiculous, and we thought we would share!
